Human Rights Response Booklet

This booklet is designed as a response to article 7 of the declaration of human rights in light of the US Supreme Court overthrowing Roe v Wade at the start of 2022. What follows is a written piece by me discussing my anxieties around Australia politically following in the footsteps of America.

The imagery and visual style are political and feminine. I created this visually by using newsprint style textures associated with punk music and publications that are lacking structure and visual appeal on purpose as a political point. I saw this as an opportunity as a designer to speak through style and still maintain visual order without taking away from the message. This technique used alongside an array of pinks and images works in harmony to reinforce the message and who it is coming from.

The book itself is a non-traditional reading experience, it has two sides reiterating the same message n different ways. The back side of the publication is a mural-style design with a poem written by myself accompanied by imagery coinciding with the message.
