Grim Gins is a Scottish distillery inspired by Celtic folklore and morbid curiosities of the 19th century in the likes of wet specimens, freak shows, cabinets of curiosities. This specific range was designed for a Halloween release.

I conceptualised the idea of an image of a creature on the inside of the label and create the illusion of a floating wet specimen. The idea grew from there into “The Morbid & Divine” range of beverages.

The flavours and corresponding illustrations are Plagued Rat & Primrose, Stag Beetle & Black Sage, Homing Pigeon & Hibiscus  and True Frog & Forget Me Not. The botanical pairings are aroma infused with the gin. Images appear

The packaging is designed to carry 2 beverages and is wrapped in the monogram print of the logo designed to look like victorian style wallpaper. The logo that was created by abstracting the “G” in Grim Gins and creating a Celtic style logo tying in back to the distillery. The cardboard sourced to design and construct the carrier is via Able Packaging who specialise in beverage packaging to maintain structural integrety as well as visual integrity by avoiding bulky cardboards.
